My daughter and I had the privilege of going to Panama City Beach for the weekend and we weren’t exactly sure what to expect. I knew we would be seeing a lot of the beach because our resort, Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort, was right on the Gulf of Mexico, but I wasn’t sure what else there would be to do around town.
I was pleasantly surprised! There is so much to do in Panama City Beach! Not only did we swim in the ocean, but we also went to lots of really fun, family-friendly attractions and one of those was WonderWorks!
Have you ever been to a WonderWorks? There are five locations and two of those are in Florida. One is in Panama City Beach, which is the one we visited, and the other is in Orlando. I highly suggest going if you get the chance. It’s a blast!
From the moment you pull into the parking lot it is exciting! We walked to the entrance and the building looks like it is upside down. Maggie kept asking, “How will we walk in here? Everything will be upside down?!”
There were three floors of fun, hands-on activities for kids [and adults] of all ages! They have really unique exhibits that you can’t find in any regular museum. You can lay on a bed of nails…which Maggie tried and I was shocked that she wasn’t scared. They have a hurricane room where you can experience high winds like you are in a hurricane. They have a water fountain that flows up instead of down. Just really cool stuff! Maggie’s personal favorite was the bubble station. We could have spent all day there…
It was so adorable. The kids can make big bubbles, little bubbles, bubble shapes. Super fun!
Another favorite was the WonderBrite station. It was like those Night Bright’s from the 1980’s. Remember those? But this was life size. It was really fun to make pictures with the colors. We spent a lot of time there.
They had so many cool things to do there. They had laser tag, light and sound zones, art galleries, and a NASA space exhibit where Maggie could see herself as an astronaut…
Check out our video of some of the fun things we did at WonderWorks:
I think the thing I really like about WonderWorks is that there is something for everyone. I was amused and my preschooler was amused by the fun activities and exhibits. It’s fun for everyone! It’s a great place to visit with the kids on your next trip to Panama City Beach.
