I am a channel surfer. It’s one of the things that brings joy to my heart, I really can’t explain it, but I never got out of the teenage phase of channel surfing. I channel surf on the TV and I channel surf on the radio in the car. I even have one of those buttons on my steering wheel so I can radio channel surf without taking my hands off the wheel. It’s delightful.
But my mom changed all of that for me this week.
Let me explain.
My mom loves buying things for Maggie. It’s so sweet! We get packages every so often and we open them up and they have toys and clothes, etc. in them. Well this time my mom sent a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse CD for the car! I guess she thought I should have “The Hotdog Dance” song in my head 24 hours a day instead of just 22.5 hours a day.
So now I get to listen to Mickey Mouse at home AND in the car! Wow, aren’t I one lucky momma?!
In all seriousness, though, Maggie really does love it. She sings along from the back seat and in the 2 second gap between songs she says, “Where Mickey go?” It’s pretty darn cute!
My personal favorite is track #9 when Donald sings “A Bicycle Built for Two” to Daisy.
So here is a shout out to my mom, from Maggie, for the wonderful CD that she absolutely adores and that has truly entered me into mommy-hood. Goodbye country music, goodbye Bobby Bones show, goodbye KLOVE, goodbye sportsradio, goodbye channel surfing. Goodbye! …..hello children’s music, and a new way of life as I know it!
