It’s #TBT (Throw Back Thursday) and I want to share a couple pictures of my brother and I when we were little. He and I are 6 years apart but we were still pretty close while we were growing up and we are now too. We did a lot of fun things together. He claims I bossed him around all the time, but I’m innocent until proven guilty right? Check out how adorable we are….
When we grew up, my brother and I remained close, but I lived in Virginia which is super far from Florida and I missed a lot of significant things that happened in his life like his graduation. I always felt bad about that. Now that I live close to him again, I don’t intend to miss anything!
Next month he graduates from college and I am so proud of him and excited about where his career will take him. Since I wasn’t there for the high school graduation, I will definitely be there for the college graduation.
That is why I am sharing my box of Cheerios™ with my brother during the Give-a-Box campaign. You just buy a box at Walmart like I did here:
We chose Apple Cinnamon Cheerios™ but all the flavors are great. Then you just enter the code that you see on the inside of the box and also add the e-mail address of who you want to send a box to. Then they will be e-mailed a coupon for a free box redeemable at Walmart! It makes a great gift!
Plus, there are also a lot of fun things you can do with Cheerios™. I am a part of a local mom group, so I thought next time I hosted I would make a Cheerios™ bar for the kids to snack on. It’s easy and fun to make. Perfect for a party!
The way I did this was simple:
- Gather the ingredients. You will need Cheerios™, raisins, chocolate chips (because what kid doesn’t love chocolate, right?!), craisins, and marshmallows. You can also add nuts, berries, and other toppings.
- Put each ingredient in a seperate bowl. I used small bowls for the raisins, chocolate chips, craisins, and marshmallows and then I used a larger bowl for the Cheerios™ because that is the main ingredient and you will need the most of that for this snack.
- Give each person a bowl and let them make their own cheerio snack by adding the various toppings.
- Mix it up and eat it with or without milk. Either way is good- trust me, I’ve tried it!
- Eat up! It’s delicious!
I also clipped a topping label to each bowl with an ingredient in it so everyone knows what the toppings are. I just used a clothespin to clip the label to the bowl. If you would like a copy of these topping labels, I included it as a free printable so you can use them when you do your Cheerios™ bar. Grab them here to print them.
So now the big question is: who will you send your #GiveABox to? Remember to click here to learn more and/or to enter the code you find on the inside of your Cheerios™ box so that someone special in your life can receive a coupon for a free box redeemable at Walmart. I would love to hear who you are sending yours to! Comment below and let me know!
