How is it that we already celebrated my son’s first birthday? I literally feel like he was born yesterday…no pun intended…
On his birthday, we were invited to Walt Disney World for the Awaken Summer event, so we figured what better to celebrate his birthday but there? It also seemed appropriate since we found out that Charlie was going to be a boy while on a family vacation to Walt Disney World. Check that out here.
So in order to make Charlie feel like he didn’t completely miss out on not having a party (which he would never know the difference- he’s one for pete’s sake- ha!), we had a little “Mickey Mouse” themed party with our family who came with us to Disney.
These are sooooooo easy to make, even for a non-baker like me. Here is a little video of how I did it…don’t mind my love for Taylor Swift music, or as we like to call her, “Tay, Tay.”
Cupcake Mix (any kind…we prefer chocolate)
Red Icing in a can (the kind that comes with the tops so you can decorate cupcakes or a cake)
Oreo Cookies (regular, not double stuffed)
I made the cupcakes based on the package instructions. Then I added on regular sized oreo by spreading a little icing on the back and sticking it to the top of the cupcake. The icing helps hold the oreos to the cupcake.
Then I did the same for two mini oreos to make Mickey’s ears. After that I used the red icing can to decorate all around the oreos.
