Memorial Day is coming up this weekend so it’s time to start planning for the cookouts, family gatherings, and parties! It’s been three years since my hubby turned the big 3-0 on Memorial Day weekend and I threw him a surprise party- and boy, was he surprised! We had family and friends come from all over to celebrate my husband and his thirty years of life. It was so much fun. It was also a lot of planning!
Here are some fun Memorial Day Party Ideas I did at our party:
I got this pretzel idea from the one and only Martha Stewart. I dipped pretzel rods into chocolate and then added festive red, white, and blue sprinkles. Click here to get more information about this from Martha Stewart.
My favorite part was the can idea. I added a picture of William growing up to one side and then to the other side I added a “Happy 30th Birthday, William” banner.
The illumination frames were super fun too! I also took 3 Dollar Tree frames and took the glass out. Then I printed various pictures of William growing up on velum paper so it was transparent. Next I placed the velum pictures in the frames where the glass would be and then glued three picture frames together to make a tri-frame. Once the party was about to start I lit a tea-light and put it in the middle of the tri-frame so the pictures were illuminated. It was super cute!
My friend made these adorable red, white, and blue cupcakes and I bought the sparkler toppings to go on top of the cupcakes. Don’t they look like fireworks?
My hubby cutting the cake!
My friend made this adorable banner that says “Happy Birthday.” I set the tents up and kept the red, white, and blue theme going with the table cloths. He was surprised and it was super fun!
So do you have plans for Memorial Day? Are you hosting a party, going to the beach, just relaxing? All of these sound like great plans!! Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
